Before I get to the backstory. The first think you need to understand is that this book was never devised to be a bestseller. Nor was it devised to check the bucket-list item of "Author," for any of the book's 100+ collaborators. 

Rather, The Value-Driven Approach to Sell Real Estate was, in part, inspired by the ISO-9000. The ISO-9000 is a globally adopted, fundamental set of management and quality assurance standards. Standards used by brands that want to ensure that their products and services consistently meet customer satisfaction requirements. 

ISO-9000 “certification” exists so that stakeholders and beneficiaries know, with full confidence,  that a provider (or manufacturer) will perform to a certain standard, without having to conduct an independent inspection. For obvious reasons, this kind of certainty helps alleviate a lot of stress and frustration. 

Naturally, the question we asked was, “Why does nothing like this exist in the real estate industry?” 

If the ISO-9000 is based on 8 quality management principles and trusted by huge companies like GM, Chrysler, Boeing and General Electric, then why couldn’t a similar protocol be created to “certify” real estate providers? 

After all, don’t homeowners deserve to know that their home sale will perform to standard? 

This led to massive amounts of research. And since a house, in essence, is just an investment, one person’s name kept coming up in our search - Warren Buffett. The man who is widely referred to as the “World’s Greatest Investor.” A man who amassed a multi-billion dollar fortune by following distinct principles of “value-investing.” Principles set forth by his ‘mentor,’ the late Benjamin Graham. 

Those who followed Buffett’s lead and invested $10,000 with his company, Berkshire Hathaway, back in 1965, have watched their money grow to more than $50 million today.

But more importantly, to this discussion, Buffett’s style of investing - discipline, patience and the pursuit of value - has consistently outperformed the market for decades. Stated differently, those who have followed the “Buffett Approach” to investing,  built upon Graham’s principles,  have the comfort of knowing that their money will “perform to standard.” 

So, the next logical question was, “Based on Buffett’s investment philosophy, could we design an approach for the sale of real estate that could consistently beat the market?” That is to say, could we help homeowners consistently sell their homes at a higher price point and maximize their return on “investment?” 

If this were possible, wouldn’t homeowners have total and complete confidence that their home sale would perform “to standard?” Again, no different than the purpose behind ISO-9000 certification. 

After months of research and more than a year of development, we've found that the answer to all of those questions is a resounding YES! But rather than try to convince you of that statement, instead, we’ll let the “Proof” do the talking.
